How To Use Your Time Well?

I had a friend when I was a teenager who used to do her homework on the way to school, in a moving car. I, on the other hand, couldn’t even look down at my book without feeling sick. I still have the same problem. I get carsick so fast that I can’t even text someone while I’m in a car, bus or train. Therefore seeing someone reading a book or working on a laptop makes me envious of them. They’re using the precious time being proactive while all I can do is to look out of the window avoiding motion sickness, such a waist of time. If you have the same problem surely you understand my frustration.

That’s one of the reasons that I love Audible. Since couple of months ago when I started to listen to my favorite books on Audible my life has changed. It actually lets me take advantage of the time I used to waist on my way to work or school. Nowadays I listen to any material that I find useful. Beside a huge range of books there are courses available that one can listen to, depending on one’s line of work or study.

Audible is part of Amazon company. As a result all Amazon prime members are automatically sign to Audible and can use it for free. Since I’m not a member, I pay 14,99 dollar monthly for Audible and I can say with confidence that it  is money well spent. Every member receives one credit every month that allows them to buy a book without any extra charge. That’s how I roll, all books I have in my Audible library have been purchased by monthly credit. I can proudly say that I’m building an amazing collection for only 14,99 dollar per month, which is a bargain.



Other reasons to love Audible is that one can have it on every device from iPhone to Pc. It’s the easiest app I’ve ever worked with. No matter how limited is one’s knowledge of using computers or smart phones, they can get a handle on it in no time. Therefore I think it’s an amazing gift for almost everyone. You can give a membership as a gift to anyone you love, paying for only one month or the whole year. I think that’s a gift of lifetime.

You also can share books that you like with your friends and family no matter where they are. For me that’s one of the huge advantages of Audible. Sharing knowledge is one of the most precious gifts. Also it reminds me of my childhood and all those books that my grandfather had bought me through the years. That was one of our family traditions. Twice a year he used to buy a book for all his grandchildren. Those books are still one of my most valuable possessions. The collection is his legacy in addition to be a reminder of his love and care for me . Now I’m trying to build a digital version on Audible, that will last forever , for myself and all those that I care about.

How To Stay Motivated?

While most of us start a week -or a day- full of positive energy and ready to get the job done , whatever it is, staying motivated is one of the most common challenges that many people face. I used to be one of them. My main problem was to keep my A-game through the week. It’s really a challenge to keep up the determination and stay focused on what’s important. I read many books and listen to many speeches to find a way to overcome this problem. What I realized was that I can’t fit in any of those categories and “must do” lists completely. So I chose all the things that work best for me from different websites, books, articles or speeches and made a list of my own. For last four months it kept me on the track and helped me feel confident and energized all week.

The first thing I do -which I do every Sunday night- is to write a weekly schedule. I got this from Bullet Journal. I realized that I don’t need to write down every single task of the week. All I need is to write down the most important tasks of every week-for example meetings, important emails, appointments, photo shoots……- This list sits on my desk just beside my laptop all week.

Doing this helps me stay focused on my priorities and gives me an overview of the week. In addition to that I know that I wouldn’t miss any main task during this week. As a result I’ll have a clear vision of my goals, the week ahead and I’ll be less stressed out. In addition to that it makes me feel good to see all the things I’ve done towards my goals at the end of the week.

The second action is just a note that I attach to the back of my cellphone.  I write my main goal for the week ahead on this piece of paper. This way even if I don’t read it every time I pick up my phone I feel it, which is a reminder of what I need to focus on. I learned this from Brendon Burchard. He suggests to set hourly alarm with a inspirational quote or a positive word to stay positive and focused. I found out that it’s not practical for me. For example in an office your coworkers may find it annoying. Although you can attach the note to your laptop or computer, I think it’s more private to keep it on the back of your mobile phone.

Third action that I do every other day is to write down a short list of my goals and dreams or reasons that keep me going, side by side of all the good things that I’ve already have in my life. It pushes me to go for what I want and keeps me satisfied and grateful for what I have in my life at the same time. It reminds me all the work that needs to be done in addition to show me how far I’ve come and how lucky I am.


These are three main actions that I use to keep myself on track and avoid any distractions. It’s obvious that a daily schedule is necessary too.

Sunday afternoon

I think the most comforting activity in the world is walking among trees. It always helps me to clear my mind and feel refresh. It’s even a better experience during the fall since it’s my favorite season. Today was one of those amazing time, I need to share it with you . please let me know if you liked it.



How to stress down?

Stress is an undeniable part of modern life. We can not ignore it but we definitely can manage it. “Manage” is a keyword here, because it is important to accept that we cannot eliminate stressful events from our life permanently. What can we do? we can be in control of our life and get to choose what is important and worth our attention and time. I have realised not that long ago that how I start my day is crucial and it defines the rest of the day. A relaxed morning puts me in control of not just the day also my mind. while whenever the day starts with chaos, it feels like I turn to a stress magnet and at the end of the day I am mentally exhausted.

Here are some steps that I take to “own the morning”.

1- Everything starts from the night before

I believe that putting aside an outfit for the next day is a huge step. Do it to the smallest detail; cloth, shoes, accessories….. anything and everything even check the weather to make sure that you have everything that are needed according to the weather. That alone helps me alot. I always struggle to choose what I want to wear especially when I am in a hurry (Am I alone in this?).

2- Drink tea at the morning


I am a tea girl so for me it comes naturally but I understand that for coffee lovers it can be a challenge. Just give it a try. It has a soothing effect and give you a warm sensation feeling. Your body and mind will benefit from it. I prefer loose tea and my favorite is Sencha lime green tea that I purchase from a local retailer.

3-Have a routine

Write down all things you do in the morning in order.Going around and not knowing what to do is time consuming as well as frustrating. You don’t need a huge plan just write down a simple list. It will help you to manage your time better and reduce the pressure.

4-Wake up 15 minutes earlier

Set the alarm 15 minutes earlier. This extra time is your insurance policy in case any unplanned issue comes up. So you have time to manage it without being stressed out. And if you have extra time before living home, use it for anything you like. I usually use it to do small thing that has been ignored for a while.

5_ Don’t read the news


This is important. Unless you are a minister or in any decision making position YOU DO NOT NEED TO READ THE NEWS FIRST IN THE MORNING. That is true, you can catch up later during the day. Let’s be honest the news is mostly about sad and horrifying events and if you cannot do anything immediately about it you can read or watch it an hour later. Believe me it will not change anything. I am not telling you to be ignorant just do some prioritising and be kind to yourself.
