One of the recent popular trends is to multi-mask. Many people like me need different masks for different parts of their face. Today I’m talking about common mistakes to avoid when multi-masking.
Always clean your skin throughly before applying face mask to see the full benefit and avoid any irritation.
- Applying all masks at the same time
Pay close attention to instructions for each mask. Different masks require different times so don’t apply them all at once. First, apply the one that needs more time. Apply other masks with enough delay so you can rinse/wipe them altogether. Otherwise it would be hard to clean one mask without disturbing others.
- Not applying on your neck
That’s one of the most common mistakes that many do. Apply your mask on your neck too. Especially when you’re using moisturizing mask. Since the neck is one of the first areas that shows aging signs it would be wise to give it as much attention as your face.
Although we all have one or two favorite brands I believe in trying different brands when it comes to face mask. I generally use The BodyShop face masks. For clay face mask I prefer Glam Glow and for removing black heads I only use Jorgobé peel off mask (read the review here). Don’t be afraid to try out different brands, you never know what you might find.
- Not using proper products afterwards
Depending on what kind of mask you’re using your skin needs different types of products afterward. Make sure that you know exactly how your face mask works and what kind of treatment will benefit your skin more after using it.

During last month or so my skin felt dehydrated and dull despite applying moisturizing cream regularly. One of the skin experts at beauty shop suggested that I used an oil treatment. Among all her suggestions I chose Clarins orchid oil since I’ve heard a lot about it.
First thing that I’ve noticed is the smell, it’s absolutely lovely. It reminds me of a fresh spring bouquet. I apply two drops all over my face and neck every night and some mornings. Although the texture is a little bit thick -it isn’t watery at all- it absorbs by skin almost immediately. I noticed that it fairly minimizes pores on the T-zone in addition to giving my skin a tint of glow. This was a surprise for me since there was nothing on the description about it being pore-minimizing.
I love to apply it after washing my face when the skin is damp. The oil keeps the moisture in and makes my skin feel amazing. I’ve been using this for last three weeks and I love the result. My skin feels softer, more radiant and really hydrated.
If you have dehydrated skin or just need something to rejuvenate and nourish your skin this Clarins oil treatment is a perfect option.

I change my skin care routine almost every season to protect my skin. One of the most important factors is to choose a right moisturizer according to the weather. A few months back when I was about to buy a new moisturizer/ day cream I decided to give the Lancôme Hydra Zen anti stress moisturizing cream a try since Hydra Zen Beauty Essence is one of my favorite( read my review on the Hydra Zen Beauty Essence here).
During last four months I use the cream every morning on my face and neck. It makes me fall in love with my skin again. I don’t see any redness that used to appear on my skin after spending a few hours outside in the cold.
Although Hydra Zen moisturizing cream has rather a rich consistency it does not feel heavy on skin. It makes my skin soft and keep it moisturized all day without making it oily. The surprising part is that the cream has the same affect on the t-zone (which is oily) as the rest of my face. Having a combination skin type make it really hard to find a good moisturizer like that. So there is no surprise that I love this one so much that I’ve already purchased the second one.
The only down point I can think of is that the Lancôme anti stress cream is not perfume-free so there is a chance that those who are really sensitive to smell won’t like it. I personally don’t have any problem with the scent since it’s really pleasant and makes me feel even more fresh. You can check out the cream here and the beauty essence here.
This is another Pinterest hack that really worked out well for me so I thought to share it with you. This one is all about Nutella all over your face. Yes I tried this delicious chocolate as a face mask and it’s amazing. Before trying it I did a little bit of research about chocolate since it’s really important for me what kind of stuff I’m using on my face. I found out that Cocoa is one of the first beauty products that humans have used in addition to milk and nuts. Considering that Nutella contains Cocoa, milk and hazelnuts it is reasonable to assume that it is good for skin. Another exciting fact I found is that cocoa contains anti oxidant which we all know by now that is one of the most important elements that keeps the skin young and fights the wrinkles.
So I decided to give it a go. After washing and drying my face I spread a very generous amount of Nutella all over my face. After about 20 minutes when I decided to wash it off. I realized that the only way to take the mask off was to use a washcloth or a knife- in the same way that I spread it on my skin_ I’m not going to lie it wasn’t an easy task.
After taking the mask off and washing my face, my skin was brighter, tighter and incredibly smoother than usual. I kept touching my skin, I couldn’t believe how amazing it felt. This mask is going to be part of my skin care routine from now on. It’s cheap, widely available, smells amazing and works wonders.
If you have tried Nutella as a face mask please let me know. Don’t forget to mention your skin type, I really want to know if it works on every skin type.
