Hi Guys
One can find many products in many different forms ; spray, liquid, gel …,for cleaning makeup brushes. Personally I believe all of that is confusing for a beginner and expensive for many. Since these are tools that we use directly on our skin there is no doubt that they need to be cleaned. So what is the solution? Use an alternative cleaner.
I use baby shampoo. They’re cheap, gentle and usually hypoallergenic. It does not matter which brand you choose any baby shampoo would do the job.
All you need is a small bowl, paper towels, baby shampoo and water.
Add a little bit of shampoo and water to the bowl.

Put the brush in the water and let it sink for a few second. Then move it till you see the water getting darker.
take the brush out and dry in on the paper towel. Repeat this until the brush does not leave any residue on the paper towel.

Then take the brush under cold water for a few seconds, dry it with a clean paper towel and let it dry upside-down for 24 hours. ( or lay it on a clean surface to dry )
Beauty Blender:
You can clean the Beauty Blender ( or any makeup sponge applicator )in the same way. To make sure that the sponge is completely clean and prevent any possible damage to it, hold it the exact way you do when you use it ( from the thicker end ). Squeeze the sponge, don’t be too harsh, while you’re moving it around in the bowl. Do the same when you are rinsing it under water.

How often they need to be cleaned?
It depends on how often you use them and how do you store them. If those are part of your daily makeup routine , you must clean them once a week. The same goes for brushes that you store in a open space – on your desk or on the counter in the bathroom- since they will get dusty which is not good for your skin. Otherwise clean them once every other week.
If you have any question or there is something that you think I’ve missed please share it in the comments.
Kisses
Nastaran
