I am big fan of The Body Shop and their skin care products. The last time I visited the local store one of the lovely ladies who works there suggested a new product; Camomile Cleansing Butter. She claimed that it’s the same as the Camomile cleansing oil which is one of my favorite products. So I decided to try it out.
The packaging is nice. It reminds me of the hand cream my grand mother used to have. The actual product looks like a conventional vaseline with a hint of pleasant scent. It feels soft and buttery on the skin.
Unfortunately I don’t have many good things to say about this cleanser. First time that I used it to wash my face my makeup remained almost intact. All my mascara were left on my lashes despite the fact that I was wearing a normal mascara not a waterproof one. And the little amount that were removed from my eyes were left on the skin around my eyes. I washed my face three times with cleansing butter that night before giving up and using another cleanser.
The other problem I faced that night was that every time I wanted to add more cleanser or wash my face again I had to clean and dry my hands to avoid creating a dirty mess. I really prefer to pump out a cleanser, it’s more efficient and cleaner than using my fingers to take out a creamy cleanser.
Since this cleanser couldn’t remove any makeup I decided to use it after removing my makeup to wash my face. Unfortunately that didn’t work well either. After a week using the butter cleanser to wash my face I had breakouts all over my face. Since I hadn’t changed anything else I can say with confidence that the butter cleanser caused the reaction. It’s been ten days since I stopped using it and my skin looks much better. Please keep in my mind that I have never used any cleansing butter or cleansing balm before. My skin may generally be sensitive toward this type of cleansers.
Overall I’m not happy with my purchase and don’t suggest the butter cleanser to any one.
One of the recent popular trends is to multi-mask. Many people like me need different masks for different parts of their face. Today I’m talking about common mistakes to avoid when multi-masking.
Always clean your skin throughly before applying face mask to see the full benefit and avoid any irritation.
- Applying all masks at the same time
Pay close attention to instructions for each mask. Different masks require different times so don’t apply them all at once. First, apply the one that needs more time. Apply other masks with enough delay so you can rinse/wipe them altogether. Otherwise it would be hard to clean one mask without disturbing others.
- Not applying on your neck
That’s one of the most common mistakes that many do. Apply your mask on your neck too. Especially when you’re using moisturizing mask. Since the neck is one of the first areas that shows aging signs it would be wise to give it as much attention as your face.
Although we all have one or two favorite brands I believe in trying different brands when it comes to face mask. I generally use The BodyShop face masks. For clay face mask I prefer Glam Glow and for removing black heads I only use Jorgobé peel off mask (read the review here). Don’t be afraid to try out different brands, you never know what you might find.
- Not using proper products afterwards
Depending on what kind of mask you’re using your skin needs different types of products afterward. Make sure that you know exactly how your face mask works and what kind of treatment will benefit your skin more after using it.

Addict Lip Tattoo is my new favorite lipstick/lipgloss. Since I bought it two months ago I’ve been wearing it every single day.
As usual the packaging is meticulous. It has the Dior Addict lipstick signature shape with a shiny silver bell at the top which is the handle of a foam applicator. The applicator feels soft and moves really smoothly on the lips. Unlike the other liquid/fluid lipstick from Dior this one does not come in a glassy see-through container. Although you can’t see the actual color the container is in the same color as the lipstick only in mat. I find this a little bit confusing since this isn’t a mat lipstick by any definition.
Addict Lip Tattoo is described as “Long wear tint with extreme weightless feel” by Dior (check it here). I agree with the second part, I wouldn’t feel it on my lips if it wasn’t for the taste which is good by the way. It’s a little bit sweet yet it’s not too much. But when it comes to “long wear” it’s not exactly what I had expected. This lipgloss comes off whenever I eat or drink something yet it last really long hours as well. Let me explain; The first time I saw the lipstick stain left on the coffee mug I was disappointed. Until two hours later when I stood in front of a mirror to retouch my makeup. Then I realized that my lips looked much brighter and more colorful than ever. It didn’t look like that I was wearing any lipstick and I definitely didn’t feel anything on my lips. Yet here I was staring at my lips in amazement. After a few days I find out that If I want a natural look all I need is to move the applicator once on my lips. The Addict Lip Tattoo leaves a hint of color on my lips that looks so natural. It’s the most natural looking lipstick I’ve ever come across. In that case it won’t come off. On the other hand this is a lipstick that you can build up to create a more dramatic look which will come off layer by layer until your lips are left with a tint of color. This would be fantastic natural look after a whole night drinking and dancing with your partner. It guarantees that you won’t say good night without a kiss, or more than that.
The color I’m using currently calls Natural Beige (number 421) I also like the color Natural Rosewood (number 491) which I’ve already ordered and waiting for it to arrive. If there is one product you want to try this summer let it be the Addict Lip Tattoo from Dior.

During last month or so my skin felt dehydrated and dull despite applying moisturizing cream regularly. One of the skin experts at beauty shop suggested that I used an oil treatment. Among all her suggestions I chose Clarins orchid oil since I’ve heard a lot about it.
First thing that I’ve noticed is the smell, it’s absolutely lovely. It reminds me of a fresh spring bouquet. I apply two drops all over my face and neck every night and some mornings. Although the texture is a little bit thick -it isn’t watery at all- it absorbs by skin almost immediately. I noticed that it fairly minimizes pores on the T-zone in addition to giving my skin a tint of glow. This was a surprise for me since there was nothing on the description about it being pore-minimizing.
I love to apply it after washing my face when the skin is damp. The oil keeps the moisture in and makes my skin feel amazing. I’ve been using this for last three weeks and I love the result. My skin feels softer, more radiant and really hydrated.
If you have dehydrated skin or just need something to rejuvenate and nourish your skin this Clarins oil treatment is a perfect option.
